About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, maintain, and improve backend services
- Develop integrations
- Troubleshoot production issues
- Contribute to the reliability and performance of complex software systems
- Lead and support a team responsible for keeping client systems running smoothly
- Manage and investigate support tickets from clients, including errors, configuration requests, and operational issues
- Analyze logs, API behavior, monitoring alerts, and system data to identify root causes
- Coordinate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Make or coordinate configuration changes within the system based on client needs
- Use Datadog or similar platforms to monitor system health and performance
- Use Postman, Insomnia, or curl to test requests, validate behavior, and troubleshoot issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including building and supporting production applications
- Proven experience leading or coordinating engineering, support, or technical operations teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, including REST controllers, dependency injection, configuration, and backend service development
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
- Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, as well as relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies
- Familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud platforms
- Understanding of microservices communication patterns, including asynchronous messaging and event-driven architectures
- Daily hands-on experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or similar for coding, debugging, testing, and improving development workflows
- Ability to review, validate, and take ownership of AI-generated code
- Experience troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing reliable fixes
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and professional software development practices
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong English communication skills – C1 level proficiency

- Familiarity with Datadog, Sentry, or similar observability tools
- Experience with logistics, shipping, supply chain, or B2B SaaS platforms

- Experience with message queues and event-driven systems
- Experience building AI agents, custom skills, MCP servers, or engineering automations using Claude Code, Claude API, or similar technologies
- Experience creating technical documentation and context files for AI development tools
- Experience with performance optimization, database indexing, and distributed systems
