About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver disease-state and product education using approved materials to support and empower patients and caregivers
  • Educate account nurses and office staff on the Patient Education Manager role and service model
  • Host patient-facing programs and deliver presentations during internal meetings and calls
  • Serve as liaison to access teams and partners to address patient-specific needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share territory insights and strategy recommendations
  • Deliver approved education programs in person and via webinar to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Refine patient engagement strategy and educational materials
  • Respond to customer inquiries, provide education and support, and triage to available resources
  • Complete documentation requirements and track critical metrics
  • Share advocacy insights with Corporate Affairs teams
  • Identify, develop, and execute a multidisciplinary team approach to support a successful product/disease launch
  • Engage with patient advocacy groups
  • Conduct domestic travel, phone-based meetings, and virtual meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Reside in Houston, TX or Phoenix, AZ
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record compliant with company standards
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required
  • Advanced scientific training or academic credentials establishing strong clinical acumen
  • Registered Nurse required
  • Knowledge and experience with genetic conditions highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • At least 12 years of related experience, including supporting patients within Rare Disease
  • At least 2 years of field-based experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering results meeting or exceeding targeted objectives
  • Knowledge of insurance and payor landscape and U.S. reimbursement process
  • Prior product launch experience preferred
  • Ability to work quickly and flexibly with resource constraints
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as necessary
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, navigate complexity, and be creative and solutions-oriented
  • Passion for patient care and exceptional attention to detail regarding policies and procedures
  • Must complete requisite training and comply with applicable corporate and industry policies
