Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product as its indication expands from Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome to severe hypertriglyceridemia
  • Engage key customers and accounts across the healthcare ecosystem
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient care and build strong healthcare partnerships
  • Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare-system networks and relationships
  • Develop and execute effective business plans aligned with customer and Ionis goals
  • Educate healthcare professionals and office staff on sHTG disease awareness, diagnostic pathways, and treatment prioritization
  • Provide value-added resources and HCP/patient support materials and programs
  • Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings
  • Gather market insights, profile accounts, and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing
  • Understand local referral networks and identify, validate, and document potential HCPs treating sHTG patients
  • Develop and execute customer-focused territory strategic account plans
  • Build insight-driven tactics for endocrinologists, cardiologists, PCPs, and other relevant specialties
  • Adjust territory strategies to meet business goals
  • Collaborate with field and brand leadership on strategic account plans
  • Participate in field meetings and training programs
  • Share customer-engagement learnings with field team members and leadership
  • Use available platforms and technology to compliantly engage customers through multiple channels
  • Partner on accounts involving patients seen by multiple specialties across multiple geographies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Pharma sales
  • Experience in new product launches
  • Experience with account-based selling
  • HCP and IDN engagement experience
  • Cross-functional field team coordination experience
  • Prior experience independently managing a sales territory
  • Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other sub-specialties that treat FCS patients
  • Familiarity with treating cardiometabolic and lipid-related diseases such as severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG)
  • Established relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and major accounts
  • Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies
  • Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs
  • Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs
  • Injectable experience preferred
  • Ability to learn and adhere to the company's mission, vision, policies and procedures, including the Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Ability to complete approved-label and compliance training and applicable customer-engagement certifications
