About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Launch Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within the assigned territory
- Drive performance and work with cross-functional partners and external customers to support Ionis goals
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare-system networks and relationships
- Develop and execute effective business plans and customer-focused territory strategic account plans
- Educate healthcare professionals and office staff about FCS, its diagnostic pathway, and treatment urgency
- Provide value-added resources and HCP/patient support materials and programs
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings
- Gather account insights and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing
- Understand local FCS referral networks and identify potential HCPs treating FCS patients
- Execute brand strategic plans and maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction
- Engage hospital- and office-based endocrinologists, cardiologists, and other relevant specialists
- Participate in field meetings and training programs and complete required certifications and compliance training
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates and share customer engagement learnings with field teams and leadership
- Use available platforms and technology to engage customers through multiple channels
- Partner on accounts involving patients seen by multiple specialties across geographies
- Comply with Ionis policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in Pharma sales
- Experience in new product launches
- Account-based selling experience
- HCP and IDN engagement experience
- Cross-functional field team coordination experience
- Prior experience independently managing a sales territory
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other sub-specialties that treat FCS patients
- Injectable experience preferred
- Familiarity with the Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and major accounts
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs
