About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product as its indication expands from Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG)
- Engage key customers and accounts, identify opportunities to improve patient care, and build partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks to develop and execute business plans
- Educate healthcare professionals and office staff about sHTG, diagnostic pathways, and appropriate treatment
- Provide value-added resources and HCP/patient support materials and programs
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings
- Gather market insights, profile accounts, and inform sales and marketing strategy
- Understand local referral networks and identify, validate, and document HCPs treating sHTG patients
- Develop and execute customer-focused territory strategic account plans
- Engage endocrinologists, cardiologists, PCPs, and other relevant specialties
- Participate in field meetings and training programs; complete label and compliance certifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates and share customer engagement learnings
- Use available platforms and technology to compliantly engage customers through multiple channels
- Partner on accounts involving patients seen by multiple specialties across geographies
- Adhere to Ionis policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in Pharma sales
- Experience in new product launches
- Experience with account-based selling
- HCP and IDN engagement experience
- Cross-functional field team coordination experience
- Prior experience independently managing a sales territory
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other sub-specialties that treat FCS patients
- Familiarity with treating cardiometabolic and lipid-related diseases such as severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG)
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and major accounts
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs
- Injectable experience preferred
