About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within the assigned territory as its indication expands from Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG)
- Engage key customers and accounts, identify opportunities to improve patient care, and build partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare-system networks and relationships
- Develop and execute effective business plans and customer-focused territory strategic account plans
- Educate HCPs and office staff on sHTG disease awareness, diagnostic pathways, and treatment prioritization
- Create positive prescribing experiences through value-added resources and HCP/patient support materials and programs
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG and its treatment
- Gather account insights and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform product sales and marketing strategy
- Understand local referral networks and identify, validate, and document potential HCPs treating sHTG patients
- Develop focused tactics based on brand requirements and current and future customer needs
- Adjust strategies to meet business goals in the assigned region
- Participate in field meetings and training programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates and share customer-engagement learnings with field teams and leadership
- Use available platforms and technology to compliantly engage customers through multiple channels
- Partner on accounts involving patients seen by multiple specialties across geographies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in Pharma sales
- Experience in new product launches
- Experience with account-based selling
- HCP and IDN engagement experience
- Cross-functional field team coordination
- Prior experience independently managing a sales territory
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other sub-specialties that treat FCS patients
- Injectable experience preferred
- Familiarity with cardiometabolic and lipid-related diseases such as severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG)
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and major accounts
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs
- Ability to learn and adhere to the company's mission, vision, policies and procedures, including the Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Ability to complete approved-label and compliance training and comply with customer engagement policies
