About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage quantitative or mixed-methods research projects from inception through final reports and presentations
- Lead project teams and act as the first point of contact for clients
- Write and contribute to research proposals and business development activities
- Train, mentor and delegate to junior team members
- Ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time through project planning, risk management and delegation
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders as the main project contact
- Design questionnaires and topic guides aligned with client and study objectives
- Manage supplier and internal operations relationships
- Monitor quantitative and qualitative fieldwork and recruitment
- Draft quantitative data specifications and check data files
- Write reports and presentations delivering insights for stakeholders and clients
- Suggest more efficient or effective approaches
- Work in multidisciplinary teams
- Develop knowledge of clients and identify new research opportunities
- Use AI and innovative methods to further the Ipsos offering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in or keen interest in trade, enterprise and/or economic policy
- Ideally, experience as a mixed-methods researcher skilled in both quantitative and qualitative methods
- Exceptional quantitative research skills
- Ability to manage projects and deliver day-to-day
- Experience writing questionnaires
- Ability to understand and interpret data to find insights and narratives
- Experience contributing to proposals and business development activities
- Good project management skills, including working with suppliers and timetable management
- Time management skills across multiple projects and demanding deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work well in teams, handle clients and negotiate with suppliers
- Confident and clear written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accurate use of English and ability to write in varied styles
- Curiosity and drive to grow the business
- Desirable: policy knowledge and expertise in trade, enterprise and/or economic policy
- Desirable: experience leading primary research components of wider evaluation studies
- Desirable: use of NVivo, SPSS or other statistics packages
- Must be based in London, Manchester or Edinburgh, with openness to travel for internal/client meetings
