Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join a multidisciplinary team of engineers addressing problems of national interest through hands-on work
  • Work across all phases of rapid prototyping project life cycles, including design, development, testing, and assessment
  • Work on real-world projects at the intersection of hardware, software, and AI
  • Explore open-source and commercial technical capabilities, evolving design methodologies, new techniques, and approaches
  • Contribute to impactful solutions
  • Potentially work on maritime autonomy using open-source autopilots on maritime platforms
  • Potentially develop hardware/software systems for collecting and labeling aircraft images and training machine learning models

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Rising seniors or graduate students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field are preferred
  • Responsive, pro-active, enthusiastic, curious, and adaptable
  • Self-starter with demonstrated capacity for independent initiative and attention to detail
  • Love of solving problems and building things in hardware, software, and Hacker/Maker/DIY spaces
  • Ability to communicate key results in verbal, visual, and written media
  • Strong programming background, typically using Python
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi Single Board Computers
  • Experience deploying machine learning models is a plus
  • Experience with Docker is a plus
  • Game design experience, Maritime Robotics, ML Engineering and Data Wrangling, RF Collection, anything rocket related, or exceptional Lego builds are bonus qualifications
