About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise SQL Server databases
  • Ensure high availability, security, performance, and reliability of mission-critical database environments
  • Provide technical leadership to DBA teams and support strategic business initiatives
  • Design and maintain enterprise database architectures, standards, and implementation processes
  • Ensure databases meet operational, performance, scalability, and availability requirements
  • Design and implement data archival strategies, security controls, and database optimization initiatives
  • Create and manage database objects, data definitions, referential integrity, and security enforcement mechanisms
  • Lead database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and production support activities
  • Design, implement, and validate backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions
  • Perform advanced database analysis, capacity planning, and performance optimization
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to DBA team members
  • Evaluate database design approaches, implementation strategies, and backup/recovery frameworks
  • Prepare cost analyses, sizing recommendations, and database infrastructure justifications
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure optimal database performance and reliability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10–15 years of work experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SSIS / SSRS, SQL Server Administration, T-SQL, Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, Index Optimization, SQL Agent Jobs, SSMS, Production Support, Database Security, and Always On Availability Groups (AG)
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale production SQL Server environments
  • Expertise in query optimization, execution plan analysis, and database performance troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of database security, access management, auditing, and compliance
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing
  • Ability to lead complex database modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance, PowerShell Scripting, Git / Azure DevOps, Healthcare / Patient Hub domain, Data Warehousing, Power BI, cloud migration and modernization, team leadership, and stakeholder management
  • Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure Database certifications preferred
