About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic leadership to a field-based sales team
  • Leverage market insights, customer requirements, and market access dynamics to achieve and surpass business objectives
  • Align district strategies with brand direction and develop, implement, and execute district and account-level plans
  • Formulate district business plans supporting the national product strategy
  • Lead periodic district sales meetings for training and implementation of the national product strategy
  • Contribute to annual business plans, employee training initiatives, and regular sales meetings
  • Manage territory-level sales targets and relevant incentive compensation programs
  • Conduct field visits to coach, develop, and motivate sales representatives; assess field activity, review work schedules, and oversee field reporting
  • Manage recruitment, interviewing, and selection of district talent
  • Oversee performance evaluations, personnel issues, and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure compliance with promotional programs, promotional material usage, and promotional expense budgets
  • Supervise timekeeping and attendance
  • Use CRM, BI, HR, and promotional systems and ensure representatives are trained on these platforms
  • Review and approve expense reports and monitor adherence to company expense policies
  • Maintain timely communication with the Project Lead/NSM and client, when applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 5 years Pharmaceutical Sales experience, with a strong track record of sales success required
  • Minimum 3 years Pharmaceutical Sales management experience required
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid understanding of market access and ability to coach on how to utilize manufacturer tools to navigate challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel to reinforce product knowledge & core selling message, role model best practices and uncover/communicate local market access conditions
  • Ability to leverage tools and data to conduct sales analytics for the district to guide decisions and resource allocation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a district towards meeting and exceeding objectives
  • Strong leadership, strategic perspective, problem solving, collaboration, customer focus, and decision-making skills
  • Hiring and coaching/developing early-entry representatives
  • High level business & financial acumen
  • Creative thinker with an ability to address challenges and deliver solutions
