About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support for the Meetings & Events business
  • Maintain accurate Speaker payment methodologies while multiple platforms are integrated into a single system
  • Manage the weekly Speaker payment process until the new platform is fully operational
  • Review monthly financial results and key performance indicators for senior management
  • Provide ongoing P&L management and operating expense control through monthly cost analysis
  • Assist with monthly forecasts and annual budget preparation
  • Conduct detailed variance analyses
  • Identify top- and bottom-line risks and opportunities
  • Coordinate administration of the financial accounting system
  • Process transactions related to accounting systems and controls
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly journal entries with source documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial accounting procedures and policies
  • Maintain complete financial and accounting records for independent audits
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and projects
  • Provide guidance to the financial information systems team on submissions, database maintenance, reporting structures, and system infrastructure
  • Partner with senior management and support the broader finance organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting, financial and/or analytical experience
  • IT literacy with experience of financial reporting or accounting packages and databases
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and focus
  • Knowledge of General Ledger accounting and technical accounting skills
  • Exposure to a monthly close process, budgeting and forecasting requirements of a publicly traded company
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Financial systems experience including ERP systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion-Essbase, and SalesForce
  • Ability to identify financial issues and recommend mitigating actions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to translate business issues into financial requirements
  • Experience with complex financial modeling
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business situations
  • Experience partnering with commercial and operational business leaders
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams including HR, Operations, and Sales
