About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage with investigators, hematologists, oncologists, and healthcare professionals supporting AML research and patient care
- Facilitate scientific exchange, communicate clinical and translational data, and gather insights on disease biology, treatment approaches, MRD, relapse risk, and standards of care
- Develop and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs, academic investigators, community hematology/oncology leaders, and priority institutions
- Conduct compliant peer-to-peer scientific discussions regarding AML and related hematologic malignancies
- Communicate complex clinical and scientific information to physicians, researchers, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Support disease-state education, scientific education programs, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other medical activities
- Serve as point of contact for investigators initiating investigator-initiated studies and provide technical study-development support
- Communicate clinical and research issues to MSL leadership to inform research, development, marketing plans, and strategies
- Maintain clinical expertise through self-education, conferences, workshops, and scientific journals
- Capture and communicate actionable field insights and synthesize them into strategic recommendations
- Monitor competitive developments, emerging data, clinical trial activity, guideline evolution, congress intelligence, and investigator interests
- Identify and cultivate relationships with clinical trial investigators, research centers, cooperative groups, and relevant institutions
- Support scientific discussions related to clinical development programs, trial awareness, and site engagement
- Identify clinical research opportunities consistent with company objectives
- Partner with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional colleagues to execute the field medical plan
- Document scientific interactions and insights in CRM or insight management systems
- Maintain scientific integrity, ethics, and compliance in all activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced clinical or scientific degree required; PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, DNP, NP, PA or equivalent strongly preferred from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 4 years of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience or relevant clinical experience within hematology and/or oncology
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hematology/oncology required, with demonstrated therapeutic area expertise
- Demonstrated track record of success in medical affairs, clinical development, clinical practice, scientific engagement, or related healthcare roles
- Strong understanding of healthcare stakeholder segments, treatment landscapes, and market dynamics within oncology
- Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively to diverse audiences
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and other digital engagement tools
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
- Compliance with client-specific site access requirements, including applicable vaccination or health screening protocols, may be required
- Familiarity with planning and execution of oncology clinical trials and investigator-initiated clinical and/or translational research studies
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time
- Experience supporting AML, MDS, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, cancer immunotherapy, or related hematologic malignancies preferred
- Prior oncology or rare disease product launch experience preferred
- Existing relationships with academic and community hematology/oncology centers preferred
