About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs, academic investigators, community hematology/oncology leaders, and priority institutions across the assigned territory
  • Engage in compliant peer-to-peer scientific discussions regarding AML, hematologic malignancies, immunotherapy approaches, mechanisms of action, clinical trial data, biomarkers, MRD, relapse risk, and evolving standards of care
  • Communicate complex clinical and scientific information to physicians, researchers, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Support disease-state education, scientific education programs, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other medical activities
  • Execute scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, KOLs, formulary committees, and other key stakeholders using approved materials
  • Identify medical community training and educational needs
  • Serve as a first point of contact for investigators initiating investigator-initiated studies
  • Provide investigators with technical support for study development
  • Communicate clinical and research issues to MSL leadership to help shape research, development, marketing plans, and strategies
  • Maintain clinical expertise through self-education, conferences, scientific workshops, and journal review
  • Capture and communicate actionable field insights regarding unmet needs, clinical practice, treatment barriers, evidence gaps, stakeholder perceptions, patient identification, sequencing, and adoption
  • Synthesize external insights into strategic recommendations for Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, evidence generation, scientific communications, and launch readiness
  • Monitor competitive developments, emerging data, clinical trial activity, guideline evolution, congress intelligence, and investigator interests
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with clinical trial investigators, research centers, cooperative groups, and institutions
  • Support scientific discussions related to clinical development programs, trial awareness, and site engagement
  • Identify clinical research opportunities consistent with company objectives
  • Partner with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional colleagues to execute the field medical plan
  • Document scientific interactions and insights accurately and timely in CRM or insight management systems
  • Maintain scientific integrity, ethics, and compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree required; PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, DNP, NP, PA or equivalent strongly preferred from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 4 years of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience or relevant clinical experience within hematology and/or oncology
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hematology/oncology required, with demonstrated therapeutic area expertise
  • Demonstrated track record of success in medical affairs, clinical development, clinical practice, scientific engagement, or related healthcare roles
  • Strong understanding of healthcare stakeholder segments, treatment landscapes, and market dynamics within oncology
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and other digital engagement tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Compliance with client-specific site access requirements, including applicable vaccination or health screening protocols, may be required
  • Familiarity with planning and execution of clinical trials in oncology and independent investigator-initiated clinical and/or translational research studies
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time
  • Preferred experience supporting AML, MDS, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, cancer immunotherapy, or related hematologic malignancies
  • Preferred prior product launch experience within oncology or rare disease
  • Existing strong relationships with academic and community hematology/oncology centers preferred
