Key responsibilities & impact

Own product direction and roadmap for the finance and accounting product, including general ledger, AP, AR, costing, close, and financial reporting
Set priorities for current core capabilities and future AI-native workflows
Use customer, market, and competitive insight to refine the roadmap
Design workflows where people and AI agents work together to reduce manual work and improve decision-making
Work directly with controllers, accountants, CFOs, and operators to understand workflows and pain points
Translate customer conversations into product specifications covering problems, workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria
Break large capabilities into sequenced, shippable pieces for engineering
Test and validate features against real customer scenarios before release
Build realistic test cases and demo data
Write release notes and stay close to customers after launch to identify improvements
Help define the financial backbone of an AI-native ERP for aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Clear communication skills and ability to turn customer conversations into actionable problem statements
Comfort running discovery, leading demos, and handling questions from operators and finance leaders
Strong product judgment and ability to identify underlying customer problems
Ability to learn complex systems quickly and reduce complexity into clear, usable solutions
Analytical, first-principles decision-making using customer evidence and data
Attention to important edge cases and inconsistencies
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers from ideation through implementation and release
Hands-on finance and accounting experience in manufacturing, or experience serving manufacturing clients through audit or advisory (nice to have)
Understanding of manufacturing economics, including inventory valuation, standard and actual costing, BOM and routing roll-ups, purchase price variance, WIP, labor absorption, scrap, rework, and general ledger (nice to have)
Fluency in core accounting operations including AP, AR, bank reconciliation, accruals, close, and financial reporting (nice to have)
Government contract accounting experience, including job costing, indirect rates, DCAA timekeeping, and Cost Accounting Standards (plus)
Early-stage environment experience (nice to have)
Product management or adjacent B2B SaaS experience, especially ERP, accounting, implementation, solutions consulting, or financial operations software (valuable)
Experience implementing, administering, or replacing NetSuite, Epicor, SAP Business One, Dynamics, or Acumatica (useful)
