About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the operational reliability and security of the electrical system under ISA ENERGIA BRASIL’s responsibility
- Prepare and review protection coordination and selectivity studies
- Standardize the protection systems philosophy for the electrical system and its subsidiaries
- Support disturbance and event analyses by preparing technical reports and engineering opinions
- Analyze operating conditions and disturbances to identify anomalies and recommend improvements
- Perform and participate in laboratory and field testing of protection systems, schemes, and relays
- Conduct closed-loop testing with RTDS, modeling, and electrical studies
- Evaluate, review, and prepare reports on Special Protection Systems and emergency control schemes
- Support projects involving the creation, modernization, and integration of protection and control systems
- Monitor the performance of protection systems and schemes, as well as the field implementation of studies and setting orders
- Contribute to incident energy level calculations used to define PPE requirements
- Perform short-circuit and electromagnetic transient simulations
- Prepare protection architecture, automatic reclosing, and teleprotection studies
- Perform simulations using ANAREDE, ANAFAS, ANATEM, and ATP/ATPDraw, applying the requirements of the Grid Procedures
- Prepare restoration, stability, short-circuit, Special Protection System, equipment protection, and facility protection studies
- Prepare Protection and Control documentation with ONS for the operational integration of new equipment
- Analyze bid notices and technical annexes for ANEEL transmission auctions
- Propose solutions, specifications, and configurations for protection and control systems
- Ensure compliance with ONS and ANEEL standards and regulations
- Support the technical development of less experienced employees
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Active CREA registration
- Knowledge of protection coordination and selectivity studies for voltage levels from 13.8 to 500 kV
- Specialization in Power Systems preferred
- Experience working for transmission or distribution companies, or specialized consulting firms
- Knowledge of generation protection, FACTS devices, Special Protection Systems, and Emergency Control Schemes preferred
- A master’s degree, MBA, or specialization in Protection Systems or Power Systems is an advantage
- Availability to work regular business hours, Monday through Friday
