About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, scope, build, and deploy new features quickly for users
Build the platform enabling clients to care for patients
Integrate new data sources to drive the Digital Pathway Platform
Manage complex clinical data flows and ensure data reaches the right destinations
Write updates back to third-party systems
Own production services, including monitoring, debugging, and improving reliability
Collaborate with product and design to deliver user-focused solutions
Support and improve cloud infrastructure
Deliver scalable, high-quality, maintainable backend systems
Take ownership of features and services and ensure production reliability
Support and mentor engineers through collaboration and code review
Drive best practices in software development, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure
Report directly to the Platform/Backend Lead
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Frontend teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proactive engineer who collaborates across the business and directly with customers
Passion for solving complex problems in a team environment
Empathy and enthusiasm for mentoring and knowledge sharing
Strong experience in GCP and backend design
Curiosity about agentic coding and scaling personal abilities
Professional experience as a Senior Developer
Ideally experience in a startup
Ideally approximately 5+ years as a developer
Deep understanding of best practices for Node.js applications with TypeScript
Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIs
Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience; GCP preferred but not required
Experience with Datastore, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, IAM, and Docker
Solid understanding of VPCs, subnets, and private VPNs
CI/CD automation experience, such as GitHub Actions
Infrastructure experience
Proven experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest
