About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development, enhancement, and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale, multi-source data migration
- Perform complex data extraction, transformation, governance, and cleansing activities supporting high-volume data flows
- Design data mapping frameworks and transformation logic for legacy-to-cloud migration
- Guide automation improvements to increase pipeline throughput, resiliency, and repeatability
- Conduct advanced data integrity analysis, completeness checks, anomaly detection, and error remediation
- Support and lead quality verification for incoming and migrated datasets
- Collaborate with QA/test engineering teams to embed automated validation within pipeline operations
- Coordinate with Cloud Engineers, DevSecOps teams, Data Engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters
- Support readiness testing for migration events, legacy system retirements, and cloud landing zone configuration
- Participate in technical design reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and integration checkpoints
- Provide guidance to mid-level engineers on data migration methods, ETL tools, best practices, and troubleshooting
- Develop and refine reusable templates, mapping documents, and procedural artifacts
- Proactively identify migration risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Create detailed migration documentation, including mapping specifications, data dictionaries, flow diagrams, and SOPs
- Contribute to migration status reporting, dashboard updates, and operational metrics
- Ensure alignment with federal data governance, security, and handling requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data migration, ETL development, or large-scale data engineering
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, required
- Expertise in structured/unstructured data transformation, cleansing, and validation
- Experience designing and operating advanced ETL/ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud migration (AWS preferred), big data tooling, and automation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support complex, high-volume migration operations
- Experience with petabyte-scale data migrations or multi-system consolidation (preferred)
- Background supporting DOJ, FBI, IC, or national security modernization programs (preferred)
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, or automated testing frameworks (preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of scripting languages, distributed compute tools, or cloud-native ETL services (preferred)
- Must have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of this government contract
- Candidate must be able to function in general office environment
