About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and operate cloud-native microservices in Python to support AI foundation models and agentic workflows at scale
Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Azure AKS, IAM, Redis, and messaging systems with production-grade reliability
Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and ensure production readiness
Partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, and Program Managers to deliver solid technical designs
Build cloud-native services and backend systems powering Spectre's AI foundation models and agentic workflows
Support Microsoft's Spectre team in developing geospatial AI foundation models for aerial object detection, tracking, and map generation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, required
Proven experience in data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering, OR equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience with machine learning delivery responsibilities
Experience delivering high-quality code components that power services, servers, distributed systems, and backend architecture
Experience incorporating AI, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision capabilities into solutions and services
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, backend services, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) preferred
Experience with Azure cloud services (AKS, IAM, Redis, messaging systems) preferred
Background in building scalable, distributed backend systems preferred
Practical experience working with geospatial workflows or datasets preferred
Must have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance; TS/SCI preferred but not required
U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of this government contract
Ability to function in a general office environment
