About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the company’s overall SEO strategy across all markets and websites
- Define SEO priorities, roadmaps, targets and KPIs with measurable outcomes
- Identify and prioritise growth opportunities based on performance data, market conditions, resources and commercial potential
- Lead, manage and develop the SEO department, including three SEO Managers
- Oversee team performance, resource planning, recruitment, development and training
- Develop and enhance SEO processes, standards, documentation and best practices
- Provide strategic direction as the company’s senior SEO expert to Senior Management
- Monitor search algorithm developments, AI Overviews, generative AI and emerging search technologies
- Develop and manage technical SEO strategies covering site architecture, crawling, indexing, rendering, internal linking, structured data, redirects, international SEO and Core Web Vitals
- Lead technical SEO audits and ensure issues are prioritised and resolved
- Partner with Development and Product teams on websites, product features, migrations, redesigns and technical changes
- Drive on-page and content SEO strategy, including keyword research, search intent, content planning, optimisation and performance improvement
- Collaborate with Content and Social Media teams on search-driven content strategies
- Develop and oversee link-building, link acquisition and digital PR strategies
- Embed SEO considerations in products, websites, campaigns and business initiatives
- Establish and monitor SEO performance frameworks and KPIs for traffic, rankings, visibility, conversions and revenue
- Analyse performance and produce commercially focused recommendations
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective measures
- Produce SEO reports, forecasts and strategic recommendations for Directors and Senior Management
- Conduct competitor and market research to identify markets, trends, keywords and organic growth opportunities
- Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, consultants and industry partners
- Represent the company and SEO function with external stakeholders
- Undertake other relevant managerial, strategic, administrative and related responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of senior SEO leadership experience
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing SEO teams, ideally including management of managers and multi-market functions
- Strong expertise across technical SEO, on-page SEO, content, keyword research, link building and digital PR
- Proven record of delivering measurable and sustainable organic growth through effective SEO strategies
- Strong understanding of search algorithms, ranking factors, SEO best practices, and the evolving AI and generative search landscape
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush or comparable platforms
- Strong analytical and commercial capabilities, translating data and insights into actionable strategies and measurable business outcomes
- Experience managing SEO across multiple websites, markets or international environments is highly desirable
- Strong strategic, organisational and project-management capabilities combined with a hands-on approach
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Proactive problem-solving approach, strong ownership of results and focus on continuous improvement
- Confidence challenging existing approaches and making data- and performance-based decisions
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, international and results-driven environment
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Comfortable working independently and managing teams within a fully remote environment
