Key responsibilities & impact

Build and evolve critical backend services designed for high volume, availability, resilience, and observability
Modernize legacy architectures by decoupling dependencies and designing solutions for safe, incremental evolution
Design modern integrations using APIs, events, and well-defined contracts across domains
Solve distributed architecture challenges involving consistency, concurrency, asynchronous processing, performance, and fault tolerance
Influence standards, architectural decisions, development practices, code quality, and observability
Balance modernization and continuity while modern and legacy architectures coexist
Collaborate with architecture, engineering, product, and business teams to transform complex problems into sustainable solutions
Provide technical guidance to other engineers by sharing knowledge and strengthening the engineering community

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in backend development and distributed systems design
Expertise in microservices architecture, APIs, and event-driven architectures
Knowledge of resilience, scalability, observability, and high-availability patterns
Experience with asynchronous processing, messaging, and event streaming
Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and propose solutions that consider evolution, cost, risk, and sustainability
Experience with cloud technologies and building cloud-native applications
Solid knowledge of software quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and secure engineering practices
Ability to work in highly complex and ambiguous environments
Systems thinking to understand impacts and dependencies beyond one's own component
Ability to connect technical decisions to strategy and the value generated by the platform
Clear communication skills for discussing architecture and technical decisions with diverse audiences
Technical influence and willingness to develop other engineers through collaboration and knowledge sharing
Constructive willingness to challenge existing solutions and simplify unnecessary complexity
