About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as a Senior Solution Architect within the Mainframe community
Evolve and modernize the enterprise file exchange journey
Define architectural direction and support the development of strategic capabilities
Contribute to migrating legacy models to modern, resilient, secure, product-oriented architectures
Serve as the Solution Architecture SME for File Exchange, supporting squads end to end
Create and maintain ADRs, architectural diagrams, and living technical documentation
Technically evaluate vendors, products, and emerging solutions
Define architecture and engineering metrics and KPIs
Design enterprise architectures for file transfer and B2B integrations
Lead modernization initiatives for legacy platforms and components
Design cloud solutions using AWS services and AWS Well-Architected principles
Drive the evolution of integration journeys by reducing coupling and increasing flexibility
Define architectural standards for data protection, authentication, authorization, and encryption
Collaborate with architects, engineers, product squads, security, infrastructure, cloud, and data specialists, as well as vendors

Requirements

What you’ll need

Knowledge of Solution Architecture and Platforms
Experience documenting architectural decisions through ADRs, patterns, guides, and mandates
Experience evaluating technologies and vendors
Experience leading PoCs, RFIs, RFPs, and technical qualification processes
Technical influence and leadership
Experience with SFTP protocols, connectivity, events, and distributed architectures
Knowledge of observability, resilience, and integration patterns
Experience modernizing legacy platforms
Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate with diverse stakeholders
AWS certification preferred
