About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with internal medical, scientific, and operational leaders, physician consultants, and key opinion leaders to develop publication strategy and roadmap
  • Lead publication plans focused on manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and peer-reviewed scientific communications
  • Gather, evaluate, analyze, and synthesize research, site-network, and study data into written summaries and data visualizations
  • Own publication projects from initiation through submission and publication, including proposals, timelines, stakeholder coordination, and review processes
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform scientific context, benchmarks, claims, and publication strategy
  • Present insights to stakeholders and physician authors to align on findings, messaging, and publication approach
  • Develop scientific communications according to strategic priorities, journal/conference guidelines, and authorship standards
  • Partner with Marketing on scientifically accurate external communications and educational content
  • Manage multiple projects, competing priorities, deadlines, and budgets
  • Build collaborative relationships with physician authors, scientific leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, English, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing medical or scientific publications
  • Demonstrated experience authoring, editing, and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed medical journals
  • Experience managing publications from concept through submission
  • Ability to translate complex scientific and operational data into clear, accurate, and compelling narratives
  • Strong literature search, critical appraisal, scientific writing, and editing skills
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline management and stakeholder coordination
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a freelance environment
  • Ability to manage urgent deadlines and changing priorities while maintaining quality and scientific rigor
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage projects within agreed-upon scope and budget
