Key responsibilities & impact

Administer, secure, and tune SQL Server databases supporting Defense Logistics Agency applications
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Microsoft SQL Server instances and databases
Monitor and tune database performance
Write and optimize queries, stored procedures, and jobs
Run backup, recovery, and high-availability operations
Test database restores
Apply database security controls, STIGs, and access management
Support audits and remediation
Support schema changes and data fixes for application releases
Work across operating systems and supporting scripting or programming languages
Lead database work through patching, upgrades, and incidents
Keep data available and protected

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active Top Secret Clearance
Five (5) years of progressive experience with database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access
Three (3) years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems
Capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages
DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification, Category IAT Level II, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, or SSCP
One computing environment certification: Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA: SQL 2012 Database Administration, MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration, or Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate
Available to start on 4 January 2027
Willing to sign a Letter of Commitment
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform computer-based work using standard office equipment
Requires frequent verbal communication, active listening, and visual acuity
Must follow site-specific safety, security, and dress standards
