About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the full lifecycle of complex network and firewall incidents from detection through resolution and post-incident review
Lead investigation and resolution of critical network incidents across internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders
Make technical decisions and take end-to-end ownership of network issues
Lead technical delivery of network projects, including scoping, estimation, design, and implementation
Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term remediation strategies
Validate and approve network changes, designs, and remediation strategies
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto networking and firewall equipment
Clean up and improve existing network environments to ensure stability and scalability
Collaborate with security teams on network hardening and risk mitigation
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Contribute to architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks
Monitor networking and security technology developments and recommend new solutions
Track time and project activities in the company time-tracking system

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience within an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT environment, focused on troubleshooting and maintaining existing network infrastructure
Fluent in English
Advanced hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, including PAN-OS, Panorama, firewall and endpoint policy design, rule optimization, VPN configuration, and threat prevention
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPSec, SNMP, STP, VTP, and VLANs
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure in virtualized environments using VMware or similar platforms, including virtual networking, VLAN configurations, virtual switches, and network segmentation
Experience troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues across different OSI layers
Experience with application-level network troubleshooting, packet inspection, and analysis
Proven experience optimizing, securing, and consolidating complex legacy network environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach
Active Palo Alto PCNSE or equivalent Fortinet NSE 4/7 (preferred)
Experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (preferred)
Experience with network hardening, monitoring, and threat assessment (preferred)
Experience in an MSP environment with ITIL-based service delivery models (preferred)
Experience delivering customer-facing IT network projects (preferred)
Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field (preferred)
