About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as an experiment planner in the U.S. Army Joint Modernization Command G3 Plans Division
- Assist the Chief of Plans and Government Lead Planner with coordinating, scheduling, and synchronizing experiment planning activities
- Support experiment training requirements, assessments, and operations
- Develop comprehensive plans and strategies for internal and external integration planning and coordination
- Advise the Lead Planner on orchestration of events and activities
- Manage ongoing actions, status, and prioritization of planning activities
- Provide comprehensive status briefs to the division chief or G3 when the Lead Planner is absent
- Staff, receive, review, track, and support approval of experiment taskings, products, and documents
- Design and maintain data collections and instrumentation networks
- Develop and manage experiment support requirements and timelines, including planning conferences and IPRs
- Represent JMC at planning and resource meetings
- Coordinate ranges, training and maneuver areas, simulation facilities, and other resources
- Monitor work progress and report actions through completion
- Coordinate event resourcing and suspense requirements, including orders, annexes, range and ammunition forecasting, airspace, spectrum, and training support
- Analyze proposed systems for capability and integration into network architecture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active/current Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Competence in executing the Army's Military Decision Making Process (MDMP)
- Experience planning and executing large-scale combat operations, exercises, or experiments at brigade level and above
- Experience planning large-scale Live-Virtual-Constructive training experiments
- Experience planning and executing Joint/Multinational experiments or combat operations
- Experience facilitating, briefing, and presenting analytical results, written or orally, to senior leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Army brigade- or division-level staff experience
- Service as a maneuver Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer (S3) or Executive Officer (XO)
- Approximately 20% annual travel, both CONUS and OCONUS
- Master's degree, Army Command and Staff College graduate status, Joint/Multinational operations experience, Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer (S3) or Executive Officer (XO) service, and Observer/Controller experience at a U.S. Army Combat Training Center are desired
