About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to the sales team in responding to customer inquiries
- Analyze customer-specific requirements and develop suitable technical proposals in collaboration with the engineering team in Japan
- Coordinate product launches from functional prototypes through B-samples and C-samples to series production
- Serve as the technical interface between customers’ development teams and the engineering team in Japan
- Coordinate technical discussions and regular online meetings with customers and colleagues in Japan
- Participate in customer visits alongside the sales team
- Support the initial inspection of returned products as part of complaint handling and contribute to 8D reports
- Contribute to expanding local research and development capabilities, including laboratory and testing equipment
- Benchmark competitors’ products in collaboration with the engineering team in Japan
- Support the preparation and execution of trade shows and participate in them
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with a focus on mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
- Knowledge of BLDC and stepper motors is a significant advantage
- Experience in developing customer-specific products, launching products, or managing comparable technical projects
- Process-oriented approach; knowledge of FMEA is an advantage
- Fluent in German and English; an interest in Japanese culture is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with ERP systems; knowledge of Microsoft Business Central is an advantage
- Willingness to undertake international business travel, including business trips and training lasting up to two weeks
