About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Manager of Engineering and Quality
  • Support the Poultry Division as an onsite Quality Specialist in Gainesville, Georgia
  • Communicate and explain the quality system internally, externally, and to suppliers
  • Initiate and organize corrective actions after abnormalities to prevent recurrence
  • Motivate, coach, and influence behavioral improvements within the organization and at suppliers
  • Adhere to and ensure conformance with internal quality procedures
  • Identify, handle, and coordinate containment actions for nonconforming internally or externally produced articles
  • Draw up, analyze, and distribute investigation and control reports
  • Formulate measurement plans and 3D measurement programs
  • Suspend production and freeze stock when abnormalities are discovered
  • Verify faults and abnormalities and determine the level of non-conformity
  • Conduct incoming, stock, process, and end-product inspections
  • Maintain calibration equipment standards
  • Follow the international ISO 9001:2015 quality standard
  • Complete production reporting
  • Monitor and carry out Marel standard procedures when supplier discrepancies are identified
  • Support improvements to quality-related processes
  • Participate in internal and external quality consultation meetings and improvement projects
  • Perform duties according to Marel HSE standards and policies
  • Assist with root cause analysis and process mapping to improve processes and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA as an auditor, technician, or specialist responsible for maintaining quality standards
  • Manufacturing experience working on the plant floor and with operations teams to correct issues
  • Experience working with vendors and customers to improve process and quality control
  • Understanding of fit, form and function and stack tolerances of manufactured equipment
  • Knowledge and experience operating measuring tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology, root cause analysis, and/or Six Sigma
  • Understanding and engagement in 5S methodology
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to read technical drawings
