About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate and implement field safety programs for routine and complex construction projects
Conduct construction-site walk-through inspections and safety audits
Identify, document and recommend abatement of hazardous conditions
Use internal safety management systems to document findings and track abatement closure
Conduct project-specific new-hire orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance
Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs
Attend project pre-planning, progress and other relevant meetings
Support field leadership with safety meetings, committees and related activities
Chair the project safety committee
Assist with project-related accident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective recommendations
Coordinate injured employees’ treatment and return-to-work processes
Compile injury progress summary reports for the supervisor
Monitor site safety incentive programs
Analyze safety trends and recommend solutions for projects and subcontractors
Provide safety guidance and training to safety and project personnel
Assist safety leadership during insurance audits
Oversee large, complex or multiple projects
Manage controlled insurance program projects
Develop and implement training strategies, needs assessments, gap analyses and training plans as needed
Develop training methods, enhance learning technologies, monitor safety metrics and deliver training sessions as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field (Preferred)
Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of the preferred degree
5+ years construction safety experience (Required)
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
Knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company safety regulations
Advanced proficiency in company safety software/programs, processes and tools
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
Knowledge of various testing protocols for environmental hazards
Intermediate proficiency in required construction technology
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required
Must be able to work in the United States without employer sponsorship or immigration-related support
