Key responsibilities & impact

Work extensively within accounting and data systems to support reinsurance estimation accounting processes
Build, manage, and troubleshoot spreadsheets and system-based reports with a high degree of accuracy
Support the configuration, testing, and ongoing use of accounting software and data tools
Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis using system-generated outputs
Identify discrepancies or system issues, troubleshooting and resolving them proactively
Develop strong technical fluency in reinsurance accounting systems and processes through training
Collaborate with internal teams and IT/systems colleagues to support broader workflows
Maintain clear, accurate documentation within relevant systems and platforms
Continuously build technical, numerical, and software skills specific to the reinsurance sector

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong technical aptitude, with demonstrable experience using data, accounting, or business software/systems
Advanced comfort with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
Strong numerical ability and confidence working with figures
Confidence learning and adapting to new systems and software quickly
Excellent attention to detail when working with data
Based in or willing to work from the Abuja office
No prior reinsurance or insurance background required
Formal accounting or finance-related qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent is nice to have
Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools is nice to have
Prior experience in a systems implementation, migration, or automation-related role is nice to have
