About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and affordable housing regulations
  • Collect and deposit rent within 24 hours and notify residents of delinquent rent
  • Provide customer service and resolve resident inquiries, work orders, and requests
  • Maintain and build applicant waiting lists
  • Keep the property within budget through cost-effective practices
  • Conduct initial leases and annual recertifications for affordable housing, state agency, and government agency programs
  • Pass INSPIRE, state, and government agency inspections while maintaining company standards
  • Prepare vacant apartments for leasing and market units until occupied
  • Process move-in and transfer applications and forward them to Compliance for approval
  • Supervise property staff, including maintenance and housekeeping staff
  • Inspect unit turns, preventative maintenance, work-order completion, and housekeeping
  • Inspect and supervise outside vendors
  • Organize regular community activities
  • Lead marketing and leasing strategy to maintain occupancy targets
  • Conduct daily property walks and regular unit inspections for safety, compliance, and curb appeal
  • Attend required regional and home office training and conferences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of affordable housing experience with LIHTC or Section 8
  • Solid understanding of Fair Housing
  • Skilled in income qualification, tenant file accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with learning new software
  • Fair Housing Training preferred
  • RealPage OneSite experience preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be available for after-hours emergency and other business-needs on-call coverage
  • Must regularly walk the property and conduct unit inspections
