About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Travel daily to sites across the region to fill in for, support, and assist operations
- Assist with leasing, compliance, maintenance, resident complaints, rent collection, timely recertifications, reporting, and property management tasks
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and affordable housing regulations
- Collect and deposit rent within 24 hours and notify residents of delinquent rent
- Provide resident service and resolve inquiries, work orders, and requests
- Maintain and build applicant wait lists
- Conduct initial lease processes, certifications, and annual recertifications for affordable housing and government programs
- Pass INSPIRE, state, and government agency inspections while maintaining company standards
- Prepare vacant apartments for leasing and market units until occupied
- Process move-in and transfer applications and forward them to Compliance for approval
- Conduct inspections of unit turns, preventative maintenance, work orders, and quarterly housekeeping
- Inspect and supervise outside vendors' work
- Walk the property daily
- Organize community activities according to property management agreements and leases
- Travel to and participate in regional and home office training and conferences as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in affordable housing property management
- Experience working with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of RealPage OneSite
- Strong knowledge of fair housing, local and state regulations
- Proficient in auditing, training, and executing standards and goals
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with learning new software
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be available to be on call for after-hours emergencies and other business needs
