About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as day-to-day and on-call counsel to business clients
  • Review and negotiate contracts, vendor risk and security addenda, demand letters, and dispute-prevention matters
  • Handle regulatory compliance and licensing, including filings, business and professional licensing, license transfers, complaints, investigations, and disciplinary actions
  • Respond to agency investigations and audits
  • Advise on workplace safety, OSHA compliance, regulated-industry advertising and marketing, government procurement, bid protests, and economic development incentives
  • Advise on employment matters including handbooks, policies, agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality terms, discipline, separations, releases, restructuring, and workplace investigations
  • Handle trademark strategy, clearance screening, USPTO filings, brand guidelines, copyright assignments, licensing, and domain name disputes
  • Serve as primary client contact and escalate matters when risk, budget, or strategy changes
  • Build compliance programs, trade secret controls, operational legal audits, policy and process maps, codes of conduct, conflicts policies, and data privacy/cybersecurity incident response playbooks
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals
  • Improve matter plans, clause libraries, templates, technology, and legal products
  • Manage timekeeping, service commitments, budgets, and execution
  • Identify adjacent legal needs, conduct alignment conversations, proactively engage clients, and support pitches and cross-selling

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • JD and an active Florida Bar license
  • 5+ years of business advisory, regulatory and compliance, employment, or intellectual property practice
  • Track record of managing matters independently, including budget discipline, accurate scoping, and reliable delivery without daily supervision
  • Precision drafting with clean documents, consistent defined terms, and no loose ends
  • Ability to communicate directly with clients, counterparties, agencies, and regulators
  • Ability to work within a structured system and improve it
  • Sound triage judgment
  • Ability to delegate real work and follow up
  • Preferred: Administrative law or licensing practice before state or local agencies
  • Preferred: USPTO trademark prosecution experience
  • Preferred: Employment counseling experience on the advisory side
  • Preferred: Experience in a regulated industry such as construction, healthcare, or financial services
  • Preferred: Experience building a compliance program from scratch
  • Georgia Bar admission or willingness to seek it
