About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters for mission-critical business workflows
- Architect distributed microservices using cloud-native design patterns for multi-tenant SaaS environments
- Build and optimize data pipelines using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, and webhooks
- Drive technical decisions on critical subsystems and contribute to RFCs and architectural reviews
- Mentor junior engineers on system design principles
- Implement monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing
- Own operational health and observability of deployed systems
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver features and resolve production incidents
- Improve platform reliability through testing, security hardening, and performance optimization
- Contribute to platform infrastructure and developer experience initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years designing and building large-scale, distributed backend systems handling high throughput and low latency requirements
- 5+ years working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in production
- Proven ability to drive system design and participate in architectural decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers on design patterns and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Deep experience with microservices architecture, service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication patterns
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless patterns
- Strong foundation in SOLID principles, design patterns, system design, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Expert-level Java 8+ with OOP, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, Spring Boot, Guava, and Netty
- Expertise in REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP semantics, caching, rate limiting, and error handling
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar message brokers
- Understanding of at-least-once delivery, dead-letter queues, and stream processing
- Strong SQL, query optimization, and indexing skills
- Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and consistency trade-offs
- Proficiency with Docker and practical production experience with Kubernetes or container runtimes
- Advanced Git workflows and experience with GitHub or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools
- Ability to write build pipelines, deployment scripts, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
- Comfortable with Linux command line and OS-level concepts
- Experience with ELK or Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana, and Jaeger or Zipkin
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team
- Self-driven, accountable, data-driven, and able to work on key initiatives
