About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain the organization's infrastructure systems, including network equipment, servers, and enterprise services
- Implement infrastructure solutions and maintain system reliability
- Support IT operations across all JM Murray locations
- Administer and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls
- Manage Windows Server operating systems
- Maintain virtualization platforms and supporting infrastructure
- Support Active Directory, file servers, and messaging systems
- Implement system updates, patches, and configuration changes
- Monitor system health and performance
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across multiple locations
- Maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configuration records
- Assist with system security policies and endpoint protection systems
- Monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities and security alerts
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades and system deployments
- Support integration of new technologies into the existing environment
- Collaborate with JM Murray staff and management, ESTI, and hardware/software vendors
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years experience in systems administration or network engineering
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies
- Experience with Windows Server administration
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms
- Scripting or automation experience preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
- Flexibility to work hours outside of the regular schedule for monthly updates and other tasks outside company business hours
- Occasional travel between JM Murray locations may be required
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in rain, snow, cold, noise, heat, and odors
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment
- Ability to lift unaided at least 10 lbs, 11–30 lbs, and 31–70 lbs
- Ability to write, type, use office and/or other equipment, and handle materials
