About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Follow established firm procedures, training materials, and the firm's internal playbook
- Schedule hearings for motions
- Draft professional letters and legal correspondence
- Track important deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Handle sensitive client and case information with confidentiality and discretion
- Support trauma-informed legal assistance for clients navigating sensitive circumstances
- Follow security protocols and prevent information security risks
- Help fine tune and expand the firm's training playbook
- Communicate task status, priorities, availability, and challenges
- Identify potential issues and resolve them independently when appropriate
- Maintain responsiveness and availability during scheduled working hours
- Obtain records and follow up on outstanding records requests
- Monitor Connecticut judicial websites
- Draft and file motions and other legal documents
- Remind and hold the attorney accountable for deadlines, appointments, and commitments
- Maintain organized case information and documentation
- Assist with light billing and administrative responsibilities
- Support day-to-day case management and administrative needs
- Maintain and manage calendars
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST
- Time zone: Eastern Standard Time
- Strong English communication skills and a clear, easy to understand accent are required
- Must be comfortable handling highly sensitive, confidential, and potentially explicit legal information
- Strong awareness of confidentiality, information security, and data protection
- Must be highly reliable and responsive during working hours
- Must demonstrate strong judgment when handling confidential information and communications
