About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Source and hunt for available freight using DAT, Truckstop, and other load boards
- Review and evaluate loads based on rate, route, timing, and practicality
- Book freight directly with brokers and shippers
- Handle carrier packets, rate confirmations, and dispatch-related documents
- Coordinate loads and schedules with drivers
- Communicate and negotiate with brokers
- Monitor booked loads from pickup through delivery
- Organize and track loads using Trello and internal spreadsheets
- Identify and avoid undesirable loads, including freight that may be difficult or time-consuming to offload
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of hands-on experience in freight dispatching and logistics coordination
- Proven carrier-side experience in freight booking and dispatching
- Experience using DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards
- Hands-on experience hunting, sourcing, and booking freight
- Experience working with brokers, including carrier packets and rate confirmations
- Ability to evaluate whether a load is profitable and practical for the carrier
- Strong understanding of driver schedules and carrier operations
- Strong English communication skill
- Candidates with direct carrier-side experience are preferred over candidates with only brokerage-side experience
