About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, review, and execute all facets of commissioning projects
- Provide technical leadership and field oversight throughout design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases
- Conduct field-based commissioning activities, including site visits, start-up and test forms, Functional Test scripts, and Integrated Systems Test scripts
- Review commissioning design drawings, specifications, and shop-drawing submittals
- Develop and maintain commissioning plans, specifications, activity schedules, and sequence-of-work documentation
- Chair commissioning meetings and liaise with team members, consultants, and contractors
- Lead cross-functional teams across multiple concurrent projects
- Manage project documentation including issue logs, systems manuals, seasonal/performance tests, and training program development
- Travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recognized university technical degree or equivalent; Engineering Degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience
- Demonstrated experience with all commissioning processes and deliverables covered in ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED commissioning requirements
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment/systems inspections, testing, and associated commissioning activities
- Proficiency in using calibrated testing equipment (flow hoods, anemometers, pitot tubes, IR cameras, Power Quality Meters, and various meters)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong data management capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office products and demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules concurrently
- This position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) or PMP designation
- Preferred: CEM, CBCP, CPMP, BCxP, or CxA designations
- Preferred: LEED AP certification
- Preferred: ability to use electrical testing meters and equipment including PQM, thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, and megger
- Preferred: willingness and ability to travel internationally when needed
