About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design teams in generating client program requirements and initial test fits
- Lead generation and validation of basic code analysis covering egress, plumbing counts, travel distances and occupancy types
- Accompany brokers, property owners and end users on site visits for new design concepts
- Develop fee proposals based on project scopes and manage fees, profitability and resource staffing allocations
- Support targeted business development within the specified market by tracking, soliciting and selling pre-lease and design services
- Perform site visits and field investigations
- Lead, mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing studio culture
- Guide team members in developing design and technical drawings
- Review drawings for scope accuracy and technical aspects
- Serve as the primary client contact for design concepts, approvals and execution
- Maintain financial tracking for business health and reporting history
- Assemble pitch decks and strategize customized client pursuits
- Prepare for and participate in client pitches and pursuits
- Generate pricing notes for developed design concepts and solutions
- Partner with studio leads on new business pursuits, client development and revenue-generating opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years' experience working on commercial Interior Design projects, with demonstrated ability to stay hands-on in design development
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Fluent in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient knowledge of building codes and accessibility guidelines
- Proficiency in architectural design standards, practices, techniques, concepts and emerging trends
- Strong command of design fundamentals, including space planning, materiality, finishes and detailing
- Excellent client communication, listening and critical-thinking skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills to multitask and manage multiple concurrent project deadlines
- Understanding of building amenities as they relate to tenant attraction
- Strong presentation skills with ability to think on your feet
- Exceptional quality standards and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively and respond well to feedback
- Strategic understanding of business context behind a strategic brief
- Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Architectural (AIA) or Design (NCIDQ) certification strongly preferred
- Experience in healthcare, laboratory, industrial, or other technical environments is an asset, not a requirement
