About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess and help resolve employee issues while providing recommendations to mitigate risk for the firm
  • Address gaps in perception, understanding, or performance expectations between employees and management
  • Recommend solutions aligned with JLL’s commitment to fair and equitable treatment and its best interests
  • Promote collaboration among business lines and HR Centers of Excellence supporting the US region
  • Contribute to the ER Center of Excellence by helping create training programs, tools, templates, processes, reference materials, and other projects
  • Report directly to the US Head of Employee Relations
  • Provide guidance and support to the performance team and HR colleagues as a collaborative coach
  • Partner with the ER Lead on workforce reduction initiatives and associated risk mitigation
  • Conduct investigations of potential employment law violations, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and NLRA
  • Independently resolve complex employee relations cases by gathering information, analyzing findings, and applying company policies
  • Advise senior executives, HR Business Partners, and HR Leadership in collaboration with legal on high-risk and complex matters
  • Identify and resolve employee concerns through recommended actions and oversight
  • Analyze case trends and recommend HR and business strategies addressing systemic issues through coaching and training
  • Maintain investigation records and provide case management and data-entry guidance
  • Collaborate on evaluating and refining internal policies and processes
  • Occasional travel may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive knowledge of employment, wage, and hour, FMLA, and EEO laws and regulations
  • Expertise in internal investigation principles
  • Strong project management skills
  • Skilled in gathering, synthesizing, analyzing, and reporting ER data
  • Ability to effectively communicate data, trends, and their impact on the team and company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Teams, and other telecommunications software
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Navex, ServiceNow, or Workday
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in managing and building high-performing teams
  • Excellent decision-making skills with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong collaboration, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Results-focused with the ability to coordinate with diverse disciplines
  • Proven integrity and confidentiality skills
  • Maintains neutrality and calm demeanor in tense situations
  • Influences leaders and colleagues; skilled counselor, consultant, and facilitator
  • Cultivates relationships with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, senior business leaders, and HR People Partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial or Labor Relations, or related field
  • 5+ years of employee relations experience
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred, but not required
