About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment
  • Mentor junior technicians
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays
  • Maintain positive working relationships across the Operations facility
  • Track and store department inventory
  • Work shifts lasting up to 12 hours and travel up to 20% at a minimum

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment
  • 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls (preferred)
  • 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading (preferred)
  • 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles (preferred)
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards (preferred)
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (preferred)
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance (preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions (preferred)
  • Ability to move up to 49 pounds and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
  • Ability to lift parts and tools averaging 20 pounds and occasionally up to 49 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights, in cramped positions, and around dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, concrete, wet or uneven surfaces
  • Ability to push/pull wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ pounds
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; this position does not provide visa sponsorship
