About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with hands-on maintenance of building systems for safe, efficient, and proper operation of assigned properties
  • Perform minor repairs and assist with operation, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of building systems
  • Maintain and monitor mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire alarm, life safety, and control systems
  • Maintain facility services, preventive maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency
  • Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace parts on HVAC systems and associated equipment
  • Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and correct recurring operational problems
  • Evaluate vendors and suppliers for quality and competitive pricing
  • Verify delivery counts, pricing, and descriptions
  • Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments
  • Safely store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in the building maintenance industry
  • Accredited trade school degree in HVAC, electronic, or other industry-related trade; union training and certification are also acceptable
  • Knowledge in the safe and proper use of ladders, lifts, basic hand tools, volt meter, manual drain auger, plumber’s helper, safety goggles, ear protection, and fire extinguishers
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format
  • Comfortable working in less-than-ideal working conditions
  • Universal CFC certification
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
