About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage a national portfolio of master planning, feasibility, and due diligence engagements
  • Oversee site planning and entitlement approvals across multiple markets
  • Direct master plan projects from inception to completion across Mixed Use, Education, Healthcare, Institutional, Industrial, and Life Sciences sectors
  • Oversee 2D/3D density studies, site test fits, and implementation plans
  • Provide senior oversight of zoning analysis and entitlement processes
  • Engage directly with jurisdictions and stakeholders where needed
  • Lead and mentor project managers and senior project managers
  • Build and maintain senior client and stakeholder relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with the business development team
  • Develop client pursuit strategies, pitch effectively, and secure new engagements
  • Drive sales, pursuit, and cross-selling efforts across the broader PDS platform
  • Collaborate with design teams, master planners, and infrastructure specialists
  • Oversee project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial targets across the portfolio
  • Develop and implement project management strategies and methodologies
  • Champion collaboration, inclusivity, and belonging locally and globally

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Master Planning, Urban Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, master planning, or development, including experience leading teams and managing complex, multi-market engagements
  • Strong understanding of master planning, infrastructure design, entitlements, and jurisdictional approval processes
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing project teams
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, including pitching and securing new client engagements
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and financial reporting across a portfolio of projects
  • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term senior relationships
  • Availability to travel and support projects nationwide
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field, such as an MBA or master's in urban planning or urban design
  • Preferred: Professional certifications, such as PMP, AICP, or LEED
  • Preferred: Experience with multiple jurisdictional zoning requirements and regulations
  • Preferred: Experience with community and stakeholder engagement
  • Preferred: Familiarity with brownfield assessment and compliance oversight
  • Preferred: Experience working in a global and matrixed organization
