About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage multimedia for Journal Communications’ digital brands
  • Serve as the main point of contact for asset requests for Livability.com and other websites
  • Source, traffic and quality check photography, video, illustration and graphic assets
  • Support staff and freelance photographers with press credential requests, photo subject outreach and image transfer
  • Catalog assets in the global Digital Asset Management system, including metadata, usage history and DAM cleanup
  • Uphold asset usage, storage and organization guidelines
  • Crop, size and prepare assets for various media channels, including direct population into WordPress
  • Help the creative team plan and schedule photo shoots
  • Build photo/video shot lists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, WordPress and the iOS platform
  • Strong visual eye with the ability to quickly evaluate quality imagery
  • Extremely well organized with good problem-solving skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude and passion for the job
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed
  • Proven ability to work quickly and effectively with very strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of file formats, metadata standards, and best asset organization practices
  • Solid understanding of digital web production and emerging AI tools
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work standard CST business hours
  • Color correction/image editing experience is a plus
  • Video editing experience is a big plus
