About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for the technical and financial performance of assigned battery storage assets throughout their entire operating lifecycle
  • Regularly analyze availability, operating costs, revenue development, and asset condition
  • Identify and implement specific opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the relevant departments
  • Analyze variances and initiate appropriate measures
  • Evaluate maintenance strategies, technical optimizations, and upgrades in terms of cost, benefits, and long-term economic viability
  • Develop measures with Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams to improve asset performance
  • Manage manufacturers, service partners, and relevant operational contracts
  • Pursue warranty, guarantee, and performance claims
  • Coordinate the resolution of faults and performance limitations and assess their financial impact
  • Ensure compliance with operator obligations as well as safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Support operational takeovers, acceptance processes, and technical developments
  • Prepare transparent performance reports and well-founded decision papers for management
  • Further develop KPIs, standards, and processes for the growing storage portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed degree in industrial engineering, energy economics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
  • Alternatively, a business-related qualification combined with solid technical experience
  • Several years of experience in asset management, plant operations, or the commercial management of energy assets
  • Experience in battery storage or comparable energy infrastructure is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of technical interdependencies to assess asset performance, operational risks, and optimization measures
  • Experience with budget planning, forecasting, cost analysis, and evaluating investment or optimization measures
  • Good understanding of the economic drivers of energy assets
  • Knowledge of electricity markets and the marketing of battery storage assets is an advantage
  • Experience managing service providers and handling contracts, warranties, or guarantees
  • Ability to translate data into clear recommendations for action and prioritize measures based on technical and economic value
  • Independent, reliable, and consistent working style
  • Very good German language skills (at least C1 level)
  • English language skills at B2 level
  • Residence anywhere in Germany
  • Willingness to spend three days on-site every two weeks at the location in Aschheim near Munich
