About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and drive the next generation of JumpCloud’s platform architecture
Evaluate existing platform architecture and implement transformative AI-driven design changes
Champion AI internally and externally and establish an AI vision aligned with business goals
Advise the Head of Engineering and executive leadership on AI developments and technical strategy
Architect robust, scalable, and secure AI-driven systems for massive data volumes and global identity workflows
Mentor engineers and engineering managers and elevate technical capabilities across teams
Conduct technical competitive analyses across AI and Identity/Directory-as-a-Service markets
Adapt technical strategies as AI models, frameworks, and security requirements evolve
Participate in assigned on-call shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of software engineering/architecture experience
At least 4+ years dedicated to deep AI integrations
Proven experience in IAM, Directory-as-a-Service, Zero Trust, or endpoint management domains
Experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed cloud architectures and data pipelines at massive scale
Demonstrated adaptability and ability to pivot architectures for cutting-edge technologies
Proven technical leadership, mentorship, coaching, and organizational upskilling experience
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to Head of Engineering and C-suite leadership
Strong competitive analysis and industry trend analysis capabilities
Fluency in spoken and written English
Must be located in and authorized to work in India
Participation in on-call shifts
Preferred: experience with Python, Go, Rust, or similar for proof-of-concepts
Preferred: expertise or certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure AI ecosystems, Kubernetes, and Docker
Preferred: understanding of GDPR, CCPA, AI ethics, and data security
Preferred: public thought leadership or open-source community presence
Preferred: experience in high-growth startups
