About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, scale, and optimize JumpCloud’s product and developer documentation
Act as an information architect and workflow innovator
Manage documentation using GitHub-native workflows, Markdown, branches, pull requests, and code reviews
Integrate documentation into automated CI/CD deployment pipelines using Static Site Generators such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, or Hugo
Maintain version control across multiple product releases, API versions, and branch merges
Author, edit, and maintain API references, developer guides, user how-tos, configuration guides, and release notes
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Managers, and Designers to translate UX designs and technical specifications into intuitive content
Provide UX writing and improve UX prototypes
Manage and prioritize 15–20 feature or update releases during a quarter
Test feature flags, API endpoints, sample code, and UI flows before publication
Design, deploy, and manage in-app onboarding flows, tooltips, and release announcements using Pendo or similar platforms
Design, test, and standardize prompts and prompt templates
Integrate AI assistants into daily workflows to reduce repetitive documentation tasks
Audit AI-generated content for technical accuracy, brand tone, hallucinations, and security compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

4-7+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Engineer, or Product Content Strategy Specialist in a SaaS or tech environment
Proven mastery of GitHub, including pull requests, code reviews, and branch management
Proficiency in Markdown and Static Site Generators within a Docs-as-Code pipeline
Hands-on experience using generative AI tools and working knowledge of prompt engineering techniques
Ability to contribute quickly given highly technical and nuanced specifications
Strong editorial judgment to identify hallucinations, outdated parameters, and security risks
Demonstrated experience building and targeting in-app messaging, guides, and analytics using Pendo or comparable tools such as Appcues, Userpilot, or WalkMe
Portfolio submission requested, including documentation samples, AI prompts, demo videos, in-app notifications or onboarding flows, Git repositories, etc.
Must be located in and authorized to work in India
Fluent spoken and written English
