About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Configure and support clinical applications within Epic electronic health record software
  • Consult with members to provide accurate, secure, and efficient patient-care and provider-workflow solutions
  • Perform complex build and configuration for interfaced inpatient applications and orderable/performable tests or procedures
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and go-live activities for the assigned application
  • Attend customer on-site activities, gather specifications and discovery questions, capture process gaps, demonstrate Epic foundation build and workflow design, and track risks, issues, and requests
  • Follow shared versus separate build guidelines, change control processes, guiding principles, affiliate naming and numbering conventions, data migration, support incident tracking, and optimization request processes
  • Monitor assigned support tickets, document activities, and resolve issues within established service levels
  • Perform workflow analysis and design under senior team direction and facilitate workflow adoption
  • Participate in system testing by executing scripts and documenting errors or deficiencies
  • Support departments and end users during system upgrades and optimization activities
  • Execute assigned tasks under senior team or management supervision within specified time frames
  • Use system knowledge and available resources to address routine issues
  • Participate in departmental and customer team meetings and provide notes or other support
  • Maintain current application knowledge and use resources to address issues or complete tasks
  • Participate in testing downtime processes with end users and support downtime activities
  • Contribute to user training content and support formal training classes through proctoring, materials preparation, or other tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of college education and 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Epic Certified in respective application upon hire or obtain within 9 months of employment
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred DI certified
  • Preferred but not required Medical Technologist/MT
  • Prior analyst experience working with a Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Work history/knowledge of Laboratory operations
  • Prior experience with the Epic Beaker Lab system a plus
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills required
  • Work history in Healthcare required
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time and use of computer and other telecommunication devices
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, and demonstrate critical thinking, sound decision-making, attention to detail, alertness, and self-motivation
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, including attendance at new employee orientation
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s)
