About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and execute the technical strategy for Logistics Services engineering
  • Lead an approximately 59-person engineering organisation across DaaS, Integrations, and Tooling
  • Own delivery, technical direction, and architectural evolution across integrations, operational tooling, and the DaaS platform
  • Shape consolidation toward robust shared services, reducing fragmentation and improving reliability and scalability
  • Partner with product and engineering counterparts to align roadmaps and prioritise investments
  • Foster technical excellence, experimentation, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure operational stability and service reliability for high-scale, real-time systems
  • Build and develop engineering leadership by coaching engineering managers and senior engineers
  • Own hiring, retention, and team structure
  • Manage a multi-million dollar engineering budget, vendor strategy, and technology investment decisions
  • Operate at Director, VP, and Board level and build relationships across Engineering, Product, Operations, and the wider business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant engineering leadership experience, including several years leading large, distributed engineering organisations of 50–100+ people
  • Background in platform or integration engineering at scale, ideally building B2B or external-facing services in logistics, marketplace, or similarly complex domains
  • Technical fluency across distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native platforms
  • Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organisations, developing engineering managers, and establishing a culture of excellence
  • Experience guiding platform consolidation or shared service migrations across complex, fragmented technical landscapes
  • Ability to translate business objectives into a coherent technical roadmap and bring others along
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD, agile delivery, and data-driven decision making
  • Experience managing vendors and operating with budget ownership at significant scale
