About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Improve test processes and automation in an agile environment
- Coach and mentor the team on best testing practices
- Review peers’ code and mentor more junior team members
- Serve as the team’s trusted authority for QA and automation matters
- Provide evidence-based recommendations on release readiness
- Engineer reliable automated tests comparable to production code
- Ensure appropriate functional and non-functional test coverage
- Configure CI to maximize team benefit while balancing coverage and confidence
- Advocate quality practices across teams
- Work with developers to build scalable systems and troubleshoot using various tools
- Support back-office tools for visualizing aspects of the Delivery Network
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on expertise writing automated tests (e.g., Cypress.io)
- Knowledge of standard test automation design patterns
- Experience building frameworks tailored for CD environments
- Proven background integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong practical understanding of RESTful web services and HTTP protocols
- Experience with API testing; Postman or Pact are a plus
- Familiarity or experience with Java 17+ and React.js 18 (bonus)
- Experience with SonarQube, Artillery, and Zephyr Scale/TM4J (bonus)
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, Amazon SNS/SQS, and Apache Kafka (bonus)
- Confidence testing in a collaborative, agile environment
- Comfortable working with software engineers, configuring environments, looking in databases, automating tests, and building frameworks
- Successful background check required as a condition of employment
