About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and ship backend services and streaming data pipelines in Go that handle real world scale
  • Own data end to end, including event schema and contract design, durable messaging patterns, read models and warehouse tables serving analytics
  • Build financial data flows, including payment processor ingestion, fee reconciliation and ledger backed reporting
  • Ingest and reconcile third party data from partner files and payment processor APIs with idempotent, replayable backfills
  • Develop and evolve API and GraphQL serving layers for internal and external products
  • Migrate existing reporting paths onto the new architecture
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and developer tooling
  • Collaborate across time zones with Product, QA, and UK engineering and data teams on shared data models
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Cursor for coding, PR reviews, debugging, tests and documentation
  • Own features vertically, including following backend features into React frontends when needed
  • Mentor more junior developers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US based, ideally within commuting distance of Dallas Fort Worth
  • Bachelor's in CS/SE or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering, with strong recent experience in Go
  • Deep SQL and data modeling skills; designed schemas for analytics and reporting workloads; comfortable operating production databases including locking, connection behavior, query performance and safe zero downtime migrations
  • Experience working with large datasets and understanding of OLAP/OLTP paradigms
  • Experience building event driven or streaming data systems, including durable messaging, change data capture, delivery guarantees, replayability and related failure modes
  • Experience working with payment processor systems and financial data (ingestion and reconciliation)
  • Hands on data warehouse experience (BigQuery or similar) and warehouse transformation tooling (dbt or similar)
  • Deep experience with AWS (EKS, Kinesis, RDS, S3, IAM) and BigQuery on GCP
  • GraphQL and API design experience for data heavy products, including access control for client facing data
  • Kubernetes experience (EKS/GKE) and proficiency with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
  • Solid testing practices across unit, integration and end to end
  • Comfortable working with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor and similar), leveraging these daily as core workflow
  • Clear communication skills, especially async (PRs, design docs, Slack)
  • Ability to own problems end to end, from ambiguous ask to shipped design, while working with senior and principal engineers
  • Nice to have: schema and data contract tooling and typed event design (Protobuf or similar)
  • Nice to have: experience building MCP servers or AI augmented internal tooling
  • Nice to have: multilingual engineers (TypeScript/Node or others) alongside Go
  • Nice to have: quantitative experience around data quality monitoring, statistical thinking or anomaly detection
  • Nice to have: parking, mobility, ticketing or live events sector experience
